Leonie_WoolhouseThis concert has been organised by Matthew Woolhouse in memory of his mother Leonie, who passed away in December 2014 . George Szirtes will be reading poetry and the concert features Tom Primrose conductor; Nigel Robson (solo tenor), and Ian Cross (guitar). The programme includes music from Monteverdi’s Vespers, Debussy and Matthew Woolhouse.

Matthew Woolhouse holds a GGSM from the Guildhall Conservatoire of Music, and an MPhil and Ph.D from the University of Cambridge, UK. He is currently Professor of Music at McMaster University in Canada, where he directs the Digital Music Lab in Association with Nokia

Tom Primrose graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music where he studied with Michael Dussek and Malcolm Martineau, before which he was Assistant Organist and Director of the Girls’€™ Choir at Norwich Cathedral.

Nigel Robson is one of Britain’s most versatile lyric tenors with an operatic and concert repertoire ranging from Monteverdi to the most contemporary of compositions, and is particularly well known for his interpretations of Britten.

Ian Cross is Professor of Music & Science and is a Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge. He is responsible for teaching science and music in the Faculty at Cambridge, where he is Director of the Faculty’s Centre for Music and Science (CMS).
